Tommy Tui’s Journey
Readers’ Comments
LM (Tawa):
I saw this book in a waiting room at the dentist. Loved it, so am off to buy a copy to give to our Kindy as a thank you gift from my family. What an amazing book! It’s just what I need — I’ve been looking out for a book with pictures and names of local birds to teach my son about what is in our garden. Now I have found it, and more, in this wonderful book. We recognise several of the places as we are fom Tawa. Thanks for creating such a marvellous book.
TK (Author, Florida USA):
The book arrived in the mail yesterday, and I just wanted to write to you immediately to tell you how much I enjoyed reading it. Your photographs are amazing, and you really got the sense of the environment and wildlife in NZ. It is so enjoyable, entertaining and wonderfully thought-provoking.
SC (Company Director, Paremata):
Make sure you keep taking those photographs. You have a real talent whether you know it or not. Your signed photo of the two Kereru in silhouette take pride of place in my lounge.
NL (Design Lecturer, Wanganui):
You deserve 10 out of 10 — it’s great design, it’s great photography, and my students will love it. Please let me know when you publish Tommy Tui’s next adventure.
L C Mackay (Australia):
Congratulations; the book is really fabulous.
DM (Plimmerton):
The book is beautiful.
CG (Public Relations Manager, Wellington):
Taffy has incredible energy and raw talent.
TA (Wales):
What a delightful story. I read it to my four-year-old twins, who loved it and asked so many questions! And they wanted more! Thank you for a special book — it has made me even more homesick, and the need for my children to see every part of NZ.
School librarian (Wellington):
I think it will be great for the kids, and I especially enjoy the fact that it is about New Zealand birds and animal life.
Mrs JD (Havelock North), on ordering her second copy:
Tommy Tui — you are a STAR.
KH (Paraparaumu):
Just saw your book at Paper Plus. Congrats on a great production. I’m a local artist, and part of my research involves taking photos of all manner of birds (which I then paint). It looks like you’ve been everywhere I’ve been!
MP (Wairarapa):
BRILLIANT — I love it — I am in awe of your photography.
SM (Department of Conservation, Wellington):
I admire your love of nature and children. I beleive that if we can educate children (and all people) about nature they might just take better care of the world we live in.
TB (Belize):
Really enjoyed your book but if you think wildlife is good in NZ (and I must admit it is not bad judging by your photos) you must think about coming to Belize — out here it bites back!
Book distributor (Auckland):
Well done! You are a great photographer and your wonderful sense of humour shines through the book.
